BWXT’s Advanced Technologies (AT) group researches, designs, and develops innovative new nuclear reactors, nuclear rocket propulsion systems, and radioisotope production systems for both internal and external customers.The System Designer / Drafter will be part of a diverse and multi-disciplinary team working on a variety of projects including next generation reactor design, reactor component/equipment development, medical isotopes, and advanced manufacturing technology development.If you are looking for a career where your experience is valued, innovative thinking is fostered, and barrier-free teamwork is embraced every day, then this opportunity is for you. Relocation benefits are available for this position.Job Description / Duties:+ Design and create parts drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials transitioning from design concept to preparation of fully engineered and professionally presentable drawing packages and specifications.+ Create piping and instrumentation (P&ID) drawings.+ Create process flow diagram (PFD) drawings.+ Create electrical schematic drawings.+ Work redlined drawings and part lists.+ Prepare packages of drawings and associated documentation in accordance with approved standards, policies, and procedures.+ Prepare procurement packages to send to manufacturing.+ Work with data management tools Solidworks PDM to organize and manage project data.+ Assist with prototyping activities and advice on corrective action to resolve design problems.+ Work closely with engineering, purchasing, production, and other teams to ensure design work meets requirements.+ Evaluate and suggest improvements to product designs.+ Ensure technical quality and accuracy of project work.Job Qualifications / Requirements:+ A High School diploma is required.+ Must possess at least ten (10) years of relevant experience.
