The successful candidate will be appointed provisionally and will need to take a Civil Service exam and place in the top 3.Job QualificationsThe Audio Visual Technician is a theatrical management position in the Canandaigua City School District responsible for overseeing all management of the District's Auditoriums, support spaces, scene shop, equipment room, and warehouse.Typical work activities include:+ Directs and oversees the daily operation of the Auditorium spaces, including booking, event direction, and facilitation.+ Provides all coordination and technical services for the facilities, such as lighting, sound, video streaming, rigging, stage setup, and knock-down.+ Schedules and facilitates technical assistance and house staff for concerts and events.+ Provides general supervision and guidance for other part-time and student volunteer staff+ Provides or supervises all rigging and inspection of rigging components and hardware.+ Prepares yearly budget recommendations for district-wide theatrical facilities.+ Has a crucial role in selecting and purchasing technical equipment for all district theatre facilities and supervising installations or repairs.+ Provides or coordinates district-wide preventative maintenance and inspections of all technical theatrical facilities, including dry cleaning and flameproofing of stage softgoods (Curtains) in all district facilities.+ Ensures school facilities' theatre productions, concerts, and special events comply with building and fire codes and state and federal laws.+ Serves as Production Crew Supervisor to the Academy Student Production Crew.+ Coordinates and provides audio-video services to any outside authorized organization using the District theatre facilities.+ Coordinate district-wide auditorium use requests through the Facilities Scheduler program.+ Require flexibility in work schedule to accommodate evening and weekend events.+ Serves as district representative to all outside organizations using the facilitiesApplication Deadline:08/31/2024Civil Service Title: Audio Visual TechnicianJob Number: 05292024 AVTech
