PD Polysomnographic TechReq #:0000163400Category:Sleep Polysomnography TechnicianStatus:Per DiemShift:DayFacility:Cooperman Barnabas Medical CenterDepartment:Sleep LabLocation:Cooperman Barnabas Medical Ctr, 94 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ 07039Job Overview:A sleep technologist works under the general supervision of the Medical Director and the Administrative Director of Pulmonary & Sleep services to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and home sleep apnea testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. A sleep technologist is credentialed in sleep technology and can provide oversight of other sleep center staff.Qualifications:Required:+ Current New Jersey State License as a Polysomnographic Technologist and/or Respiratory Therapist+ At least one year experience as a sleep technologist.Preferred:+ Qualification to obtain, or possession of the CCSH (Certification in Clinical Sleep Health) preferred.Certifications and Licenses Required:+ Be registered by the ABSM, BRPT, or NBRC (Certification by the ABSM, BRPT, or NBRC does NOT satisfy this qualification.)+ Maintain current CPR or BLS certification.Scheduling Requirements:+ Days+ PDEssential Functions:+ Perform routine equipment care and maintenance and inventory evaluation+ Respond to sleep patients procedural-related inquiries by providing appropriate education utilizing sleep center specific protocols+ Adhere to sleep center policies and procedures+ Inspect and maintain sleep study related equipment and inventory+ Review and evaluate sleep studies and provide appropriate feedback to staff+ Assist the medical director, clinical director and/or manager in all aspects of sleep center operationsRWJBarnabas Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer
