The Director of Marketing & Communications is responsible for planning, development and implementation of all the Organization’s marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal. Oversees development and implementation of support materials and services for chapters in marketing, communications and public relations. Directs the efforts of the marketing, communications and public relations team and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the Organization. Active participation with leaders of the organization and the Board of Directors (BOD) to communicate the direction of the marketing team, public relations and media partnerships.

This is a Full-Time Exempt (Salary) position that reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Typical Schedule: Monday – Friday; evenings & weekends as needed. Hours to be determined by CEO.

Job Specific Qualifications:

Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations.

Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and project management skills.

Experience with budget and team management.

Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, making presentations and negotiating with media sources.

Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications.

Proficient with Microsoft Office products and email communications.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing, communications or public relations with demonstrated success, preferably in the not-for-profit sector.

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations preferred and/or equivalent experience.

Physical demands essential to performing the job duties of this position (not an all-inclusive list).

Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing

Activity may include occasional stooping, twisting, turning, pushing, pulling

Prolonged computer use; computer screen exposure

Lift up to 50 pounds; not repetitive

Frequent - Moving around to accomplish a task
