Sr. Mechanical DesignerClient is a global oil and gas manufacturing company that has been in business for over 100 years. They specialize in engineering within the upstream, marine, power generation, and on-highway equipment.Responsible for creating and maintaining three dimensional models of complex manufactured equipment parts and assemblies in accordance with defined standards. Prepare layouts and drawings of assemblies, installations and systems. Make all corrections and revisions to documentation, as needed.Placement Type:

Excellent benefits plan including medical/dental/vision/STD/LTD/HSA/Life/, 401K matching, 10 days sick time, 2-3 weeks PTO, and Travel Assistance.Essential Job functions:Utilize design and drafting software to develop layouts of new design concepts in three dimensional solids under minimal direction of an Engineer.Use customer and company standards, specifications, and mathematical formulas to develop designs of undefined details.Examine, formulate recommendations, and present various design alternatives to the assigned Engineer.Work with Engineer to ensure completed design demonstrates adherence to good design practices and other identified objectives.Create complex two-dimensional component drawings, fabrications, schematics (hydraulic, pneumatics, electrical) from three dimensional models or in two dimensional drawings.Create advanced two-dimensional assembly and installation drawings with integrated Bill of Materials (BOM's) from models.Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.Modify complex three-dimensional models and two dimensional drawings and create Engineering Change Notices (ECN's) in accordance with company standards.Interface with shop staff to examine fit up and other issues.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesHigh School Diploma required but Associates or Bachelor's degree Preferred.7+ years mechanical designer experience for manufacturing of large industrial equipment preferably in the oil and gas industry.Two- and Three-dimensional AutoCAD and SolidWorks required.SolidWorks PDM, Vault experience, Inventor preferred.Physical Requirements:Must be able to move about the facility, squat, reach, pull lift, and use hands and fingers and other fine motor tasks.Must be able to speak, write, and understand English.Occasionally will have to lift up to 50 LBS.Work will sometimes be performed in the plant or warehouses which are not air conditioned.TalentWell is a national recruitment firm with headquarters located in Houston Texas.
