Essential FunctionsDesign mechanical components for electrical lighting systems, including lamp bulbs, brackets, heatsinks, and control cabinets.Generate detailed drawings, bills of materials, and assembly drawings using AutoCAD, under the guidance of a program engineer.Create layouts and models using SolidWorks for internal and customer review and approval.Maintain drawings, control files, and manage engineering change control tasks.Perform drawing checks, write engineering change requests, and present design reviews to internal teams and customers.Required Education and Experience
Associate's degree in Engineering, Drafting, or related field.Minimum 3 years of experience as a mechanical designer or 5 years as a mechanical draftsperson.Proficiency in AutoCAD LT and SolidWorks software.Strong understanding of drawing requirements for commercial and military applications, compliant with ASME Y14.100 and MIL-DTL-31000.Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5M.Additional Requirements & Preferred Qualifications
Strong technical aptitude.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access).Familiarity with manufacturing processes (sheet metal, welding, brazing, machining, heat treating, 3D printing) is preferred.
