Job Description

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to help develop and execute Clifford Chance's Brand, Communications and Marketing (BCM) strategy in the Americas. Our US and Latin America offering is central to the firm's global strategy and this position plays a central role in distinguishing us in the US market. Reporting to the Head of BCM - Americas and acting as second-in-command in the team, you will provide leadership and direction in support of the function's strategic objectives. You will work closely with partners, lawyers and business professional functions across the region, collaborate with global teams, and engage with external suppliers and agencies. This role can be located in either our New York, Washington DC or Houston offices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Cascading firm and regional positioning and messages on specific initiatives and projects through the appropriate channels internally and externally.Supporting Corporate Communications and Reputation Management, Business Continuity Planning, Issue Management and Change Management activities.Drafting and advising on executive communications in the region for Office Managing Partners, Regional Practice Area Leaders, General Managers and function leads.Supporting firm profile activity, marketing campaigns and design, including the management of regional activation of global brand initiatives.Proactively identifying and managing communication opportunities internally and externally, aligned with the firm's strategy, including in focus areas for business growth.Developing messaging and drafting content for a variety of channels including executive comms, press releases, social media, internal stories and marketing campaigns.Communications planning and promotion of key growth areas and initiatives in areas such as Tech, Energy & Infrastructure, Healthcare & Life Sciences and Private Capital.Providing strategic advice, counsel and training to stakeholders (including the BCM and Business Development teams) on media and sponsorship opportunities.Serving as a brand ambassador and custodian by guiding the business on appropriate materials and correct branding.Supporting on BCM team management, including attending regular team meetings at local, regional and global levels, and helping develop other members of the team.Managing the communications planning for new hires, promotions, and any departures or retirements.Qualifications

Experience in professional services marketing, public relations or corporate communications - knowledge and experience of a sector approach a plus.Excellent English drafting, writing and editing skills - as close to journalistic standards as possible, with experience drafting for a variety of channels including internal and social media.Spanish language skills a plus.Understanding of media, news and editorial priorities.Ability to design and deliver integrated campaigns - including as part of a wider global team on multi-region/global activity.Takes ownership of tasks and can meet deadlines and manage stakeholders.Experience with, and an understanding of, social media (opportunities and risks).Familiar with event concepts, organization and management.Commercially aware and intellectually curious, sensitive to the concerns and needs of internal and external clients, both locally and internationally.Comfortable with technology; understands applying AI tools for marketing communications.

Filming and video production skills a plus.Understanding of print, design and graphic production processes a plus.Analytical and research skills.Understanding of our clients' commercial objectives and marketplace.

Must keep abreast of market developments pertaining to the practice area and develop a deep understanding of the practice area's offerings, clients and markets.Must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; proficiency in Interaction or CRM systems preferred.Ability to work outside of core business hours as needed.Must be independently legally authorized to work in the United States.

Clifford Chance US LLP offers a comprehensive benefits and compensation package. The salary range for this role is $185,000 to $200,000. The actual salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience
