Director, Strategic Communications

Location: Hybrid remote within service area state (DE, PA, MD, VA, OH, NC, GA or FL)

What you'll be working on:

Develops, implements, and evaluates the communication strategies and programs across theorganization's internal and external audiences in cooperation with the organization's goals andobjectives.Oversees multiple communication functions including web, social media and digital marketing topromote a consistent, professional and collaborative brand for the organization.Manages brand and reputation, ensures that all external communications reflect the company'sidentity and core values. Drives communication plans and campaigns that enhance brand visibilityand reputation within the utility industry.Leads and develops communication team. Develops and assesses measurable goals and objectivesthat advance the strategic framework for the team.Engages with key stakeholders including the senior leadership team, operational leaders, andshared services providing speeches and statements, prepares background/briefing materials.Creates messages in the appropriate voice.Monitors and analyzes media coverage. Leverages key performance data insights on corporatecommunications. Drives awareness of news and issues impacting the organization, ensuringaccurate representation of the organization's views.Coordinates crisis communication efforts/response that include situation analysis, messagedevelopment, monitoring and response, media inquiries, internal communication and reputationmanagement.Builds a culture of collaboration with internal partners to foster awareness and feedback and todevelop corporate strategies and communications.Manages the creation and editing of various written and verbal communication materials,including press releases, annual reports, utility industry publications, etc. for consistency andquality.Collaborates with outside vendors and partners as necessary.Prepares and delivers speeches for internal and external audiences ensuring clear messaging.Plans, develops and delivers messages during crisis situations, serving as media spokesperson forhigh risk customer issues, which includes on-camera interviews.Drafts internal/external communications (will provide input and approvals).Prepares and oversees periodic reports on status of projects and communication activities.Who you are:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, orrelated field.Seven years of experience in communications, public relations, or arelated field. Proven track record in managing communication strategies.Valid Driver's LicenseExtensive knowledge of digital channels, trends and best practices.Strategic communication planningMedia relations, crisis communication, managementContent creation and editingData Analysis & ReportingLeadership and team managementStrong interpersonal skillsExcellent written and verbal communicationWhere you'll be working:
