About the Job The Department of English in the College of Liberal Arts invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor in literature and culture/media in English produced at any time after the turn of the 20th century through the present day with a primary focus on colonialism and its afterlives; postcolonialism, decolonialization; migration; or transnational/transcontinental/hemispheric studies. Appointment will be 100% time over the 9-month academic year (late-August to late-May) with a 2/2 course load at the rank of tenure-track assistant professor, depending on qualifications and experience, and consistent with collegiate and University policy. It houses both a distinguished MA/PhD program in literature and an outstanding MFA program in creative writing. Required Qualifications:PhD or equivalent degree in English or related field, with degree in hand by August 25, 2025.Evidence of high quality, innovative research and teaching of literature, cultural materials/media produced in English at any time after the turn of the 20th century through the present day.Primary expertise must be in one or several of the following areas: colonialism and its afterlives; postcolonialism; decolonialization; migration; transnational or transcontinental/hemispheric studies.Undergraduate teaching experience.Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment for colleagues, students and staff with a wide range of backgrounds, identities, and outlooks.Preferred qualifications:We will prioritize candidates whose primary research and teaching focuses on geographies and traditions outside of the continental United States and the United Kingdom.Selection Criteria:
