Responsibilities
Support web, digital, and content teams within the Department of Homeland SecurityCreate and prepare visual concepts and graphic materials using computer software or by hand to communicate messages and supplement or complement online and social media communicationsPlan, design, and produce visual products to communicate messages using a wide variety of media and channelsResearch and apply industry-standard approachesDeliver brand and policy-compliant visual communicationsUse skills in typography, color theory, and layout to create designs for a wide range of customersEnsure design/graphic activities consider aesthetics, targeted audience, theme, and messageMay provide reports to customers on exhibit concepts and design requirementsPrepare and design mechanical art/digital files and other graphic tasksJob Requirements
US Citizenship (must be able to obtain a Public Trust security certificate)Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, or a related fieldMust have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experiencePrevious experience working with the Department of Homeland Security (preferred)Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TeamsKnowledgeable in SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat and/or specialized business systems experienceFamiliar with technical and business matters, including the ability to analyze and interpret data and develop and interpret reporting metricsPhysical Requirements The physical demands described herein are representative of those which may need to be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employees must possess the ability to work in an office environment. If required, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time to visit other company sites. Must have hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. This position also requires an employee to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance, reach, push, and pull.
