Now, we’re looking for an experienced Director of Sales and Marketing who will be responsible for overseeing all functions of the Sales department utilizing strategic thinking to maintain and develop business from all markets to meet or exceed occupancy, revenue and ADR goals.We are looking for a leader whose ethos lines up with our own—a leader led by an adventurous spirit both at work and at home—exploring the trails, seeking out new experiences, and celebrating with loved ones—near and far.You’ll help create a strong culture of leadership and stewardship within the community, by fortifying your team of managers and staff and sharing the brand story.Your ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement strategic sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives.Direct sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.Represent the company at trade association meetings to promote hotel.Meet with key clients and negotiate and close deals.Prepare sales reports, analyze sales performance and communicate to corporate management to explain revenue and margins.Know demand generators and market conditions.Develop and implement sales action plans to achieve budgeted revenue and RevPAR goals.Analyze and utilize available market intelligence and demand data to drive business.Lead the team to maintain high levels of productivity and morale.Become an expert at function room capacities, set-ups, menus and pricing, guarantee policy, cancellation policy, attrition policy, payment policy, service charges and all pricing involved with any outside vendors such as musicians, florists, etc.Ensure accuracy and detail on all group reservation and catering agreements prior to distribution.Diplomatically handle all guest complaints, referring to General Manager when necessary.Foster a strong and continuous line of communication between guests, clients, and all departmental staff.Coordinate liaison between sales department and other units of the hotel.Assist, as directed, to prepare annual departmental budget, according to the specifications set forth by the General Manager with the assistance of the property Controller.Manage the sales budgets.Continually monitor, manage and control departmental expenditures to ensure meeting operational standards while maintaining the annual budget.Implement and monitor a forecast budget, daily, weekly, monthly, and annual.Maintain and monitor statistical data with focus on business trends in conjunction with the Revenue Manager.Organize and run all Sales Meetings.Meet established deadlines to accurately complete all weekly, monthly and daily reports including any other miscellaneous reports, as directed.Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with representatives of companies in outside markets to promote business.Understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.Promote and comply with all company policies and procedures.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Sales or Hotel Management, or equivalent experience required.Must have a minimum of five years’ experience in Sales in the hotel industry, including at least three years in group sales and wholesale market in a hotel of comparable quality, and at least two years supervisory experience.Requires a basic understanding of the operations of all departments in the hotel, and what role each department plays in group business.Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications.Fluent in English and ability to speak other languages is a plus.Desired Skills/Experience:Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.Demonstrated ability to train staff and ensure luxury resort customer service.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Possess a courteous, friendly and professional manner.Patience and tact required to accommodate customer needs and resolve occasional difficult situations.High quality standards for production and service.Ability to effectively manage staff to maintain a high level of morale and productivity.Ability to work to deadlines.Essential Physical Abilities:Must be able to travel approximately six to eight weeks each year.Must be flexible to work long, sometimes irregular hours, to accommodate client schedules.Must be able to work well under pressure.Benefits include: Eligible to participate in Sightline Hospitality’s Bonus plan, Paid Time Off and Holidays, 401(k) with company match, Health savings and flexible spending accounts, Basic Life and AD&D insurance, Company-paid short and long-term disability, Employee Assistance Program, Employee discount for stays at hotels in Sightline Hospitality's expanding portfolio.Sightline Hospitality is an Equal Opportunity Employer and welcomes applicants and employees of all backgrounds.
