Our client, a leading Kid's Apparel brand, is seeking a
Senior Technical Designer
to join their team in NYC!Responsibilities:Collaborate closely with the design team to understand creative concepts and translate them into technical specifications.Execute initial styles from design handoff through production to meet required aesthetic following sketches and/or original samples.Develop and create detailed tech packs, including flat sketches, construction details, and measurement charts for children's apparel.Generate and refine patterns for children's garments, ensuring accurate fit and comfort for various age groups.Conduct fittings and collaborate with the sample room to make necessary adjustments and modifications to patterns.Lead fit sessions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and address fit issues promptly.Provide constructive feedback to ensure garments meet brand standards for fit and comfort.Establish and maintain quality standards for children's apparel, ensuring consistency across all product lines.Conduct regular quality inspections during the pre-production and production phases to address any potential issues.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and merchandising, to facilitate smooth communication and workflow.Collaborate with overseas vendors and manufacturers to convey technical specifications and resolve production challenges.Requirements:Required bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or related field.Proven experience as a Technical Designer in the children's apparel industry.Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and manufacturing processes.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with skills to work respectfully and effectively with cross functional teams.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality.Superior organizational skills and excellent time management.Proficiency in computer skills: PLM, MS Office Suite, illustrator.Browzwear 3D experience is added plus.Please submit your resume & portfolio for consideration.You can use WorkGrades to collect and manage your references for free and share them with us or anyone else you choose by visiting .
