Job Summary:

John Wood Community College (JWCC) is seeking a dynamic and creative Marketing and Communication Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that promote the college's programs, events, and initiatives. This role requires a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and technical skills to effectively communicate the college's message across various platforms and to diverse audiences.Key Responsibilities:Content Creation and Management:

Develop and manage content for the college's website, social media channels, email campaigns, and other digital platforms.

Create engaging written, visual, and multimedia content that captures the audience's attention and effectively communicates the college's message across various platforms.

Design and produce visually compelling graphics and layouts, ensuring consistency with the college's branding and design standards.

Work with vendors to produce high-quality marketing materials such as brochures, newsletters, and advertisements.

Capture and edit event and employee photographs, ensuring high quality results and accurate file management.

Marketing Strategy and Campaigns:

Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of comprehensive marketing campaigns to increase enrollment, donations and enhance the college's visibility.

Collaborate with internal departments to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all marketing efforts.

Social Media and Digital Marketing:

Manage JWCC's social media presence by creating and curating content, scheduling posts, and engaging with the online community.

Monitor social media trends, analyze campaigns, and adjust strategies to maximize engagement and reach.

Public Relations and Communications:

Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other communications to promote college events and achievements.

Maintain relationships with local media outlets and coordinate media coverage.

Event Promotion and Coordination:

Support the promotion of college events, including open houses, career fairs, and community outreach programs.

Coordinate marketing materials and communication plans for events to ensure maximum attendance and impact.

Budget and Billing Support:

Assist with financial transactions including entering purchase requisitions, processing check requests, p-card coding, and updating budget spreadsheets.

Track and report on advertising expenditures and grant allocations.

Qualifications:Education and Experience:

Associate Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a similar role, preferably in higher education or a non-profit setting.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and content.

Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media, email marketing, and content management systems (CMS).

Experience with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is preferred.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.

Work Environment:

The position requires office-based capabilities, with occasional travel for events or meetings as needed.
