Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience; the budget for the position; and the application of fair, equitable, and consistent pay practices at the University. The full salary range for this position is $31.97 to $48.32/hr. The budgeted hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $31.97 to $34.84/hr.

Department Marketing Statement:The IHC fosters interdisciplinary research in the humanities, fine arts and humanistic social sciences. Its grants support scholarship that makes original contributions to established areas of humanistic study, traverses disciplinary boundaries and advances emerging fields of inquiry. Learn more about the benefits of working at UCBrief Summary of Job Duties:Under the general supervision of the Associate Director, the Senior Artist provides graphic design and production of informational and promotional materials for the IHC, design and maintenance of its website, photographic and videographic documentation of its events, and technical support for its projection equipment.Required Qualifications:Fluency with design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premier Pro.Fluency in using: Microsoft Office, Google Applications (Gmail, Drive, Calendar), BOX, and WordPress.Demonstrated ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing clearly and concisely.Provide clear and professional graphic designs and produce informational and promotional quality materials.Excellent attention to detail.Ability to adapt to changing priorities.Special Conditions of Employment:Available to work M-F afternoons with occasional evening hours to cover Center events.Satisfactory conviction history background checkUCSB is a Tobacco-Free environment

Job Functions and Percentages of Time:45% Graphic Design - Designs attractive, eye-catching publicity materials for IHC events, including flyers, monthly calendars, quarterly newsletters, and banners. Occasionally produces advertisements for local newspapers. Works with local newspapers to price and place ads. Requires fluency with design software such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop. Requires coordination with multiple IHC affiliates and staff members.35% Events Documentation - Documents IHC events with still photography, podcast recording, and video. Edits and uploads documentation to the IHC website. Requires fluency with audio and video editing software, including Audacity and iMovie.10% Web Design/Maintenance - Acts as front-end web designer for the IHC website. Coordinates with web developer as necessary for website maintenance, and updates web content based on information from IHC staff. Requires fluency with HTML, CSS, and WordPress administration.5% Graphic Production/Scheduling - Schedules production of promotional materials to meet deadlines. Coordinates photocopying of materials by work-study students; supervises all phases of the printing process and assures the quality and timely delivery of materials. Oversees delivery to and from vendors. Schedules jobs with mail handling facility and meets postal regulations.5% Technical Support - Troubleshoots the IHC data projector and other electronic equipment. Assists in the operation of the McCune Conference Room as an events center.UC Vaccination Programs Policy:
