We are looking for a Manager, Social Media

As Manager, Social Media, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Museum's social media strategy and overseeing social media operations. Acting as a central point of contact for the Canadian Museum of History and the Canadian War Museum, you will ensure an integrated content strategy across both Museums, overseeing planning and the implementation of strategic initiatives to grow follower base and foster meaningful community engagement across channels including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and X. You will additionally lead the evaluation and analysis of social media performance, establishing metrics for success and adjusting actions and strategic plans based on data-driven insights and reporting. As a forward-thinking leader and as a creative, innovative and results-oriented professional, you will provide strategic direction and guidance to a team of direct reports, and collaborate with different business functions to shape and deliver compelling social media content that is audience-centric, on brand, and aligned with the Museum's mandate and overall digital content operations.

Planning and implementing social media strategy, managing social media accounts, and overseeing digital content creation for a major brand or organization.Commissioning and producing video and a range of compelling digital content across multiple formats.Content innovation and developing digital content formats to reach new audiences.Reporting on and analyzing social media metrics to provide insights, inform actions, and support data-driven decision-making.Overseeing digital product development and campaigns from initiation through completion.Identifying partnership opportunities and developing stakeholder relationships.Managing financial and human resources and multiple initiatives in a complex, multidisciplinary institution.Knowledge of:

Canadian Museum of History mandate, strategic directions, programs, services and activities.Trends and best practices in social media content creation and the channel landscape.Planning, development, implementation and evaluation of social media activities.Financial, contracting, purchasing and people management.Audience behavior and consumption of social media content.

Education:

University degree in related field (e.g. Communications, Marketing, Museums Studies, History) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation:

MG3 -$101,160 to 128,791Status:

Permanent Full-Time Position (# 10506)Security Level:

Reliability StatusLocation:

100, Laurier Street, Gatineau, Quebec and possibility of hybrid work

Other conditions:

• May be occasionally required to work outside standard working hours.
