Communications Specialist

based in

Seattle, WA.

Working alongside the Communications Manager, the Communications Specialist will contribute to crafting and sharing the McKinstry story through the lens of the client, recognizing their journey and desire to change the status quo. The successful specialist will contribute to content development in all its forms - web, social media, collateral and support materials, media - taking part in campaign planning, identifying stories, conducting inquiries and reporting and measurement. Together, we will craft content that will resonate with our clients, partners, and employees. In this role, you will

Have an interest in and understanding of the value of impactful written and visual storytelling.

Write and copyedit compelling content that resonates with target audiences and inspires action.

Help articulate our "why" and how McKinstry's vision and values benefit our people, clients, communities and the planet

Help measure KPIs that connect our communications efforts to tangible business outcomes.

Collaborate and maintain a team-player mindset.

Be comfortable and resilient in a fast-paced environment where fluctuation of tasks and needs is the norm.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry:

Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing or equivalent work experience required.

2-3 years' experience in marketing with direct architecture, engineering, or construction industry preferred.

Experience writing a range of content including feature stories, press releases, short blog posts, social media, collateral and email content.

Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.

High degree of creativity and problem-solving.

Ease with taking on and tackling multiple assignments and projects with independence and efficiency.

Ability to collaborate effectively in a timely manner with multiple stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Proficiency with standard productivity software including Microsoft Office.

The pay range for this position is $25.49 - $40.53 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This is a non-exempt role and will be paid hourly. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
