Apply expertise in human-centered design to rapidly research, design, and prototype new service and digital experiences. The Service Design Strategist will fill a critical role in Myriad's Service Product Organization reporting to our Lead Service Design Strategist. In this highly cross-functional position, you will partner closely with stakeholders across Myriad's Product, Technology, Sales, and Operations teams. This role will have a focus working closely with Enterprise / large health systems that touch Myriad's four business units to map out their current needs and capabilities to build processes / programs that best support their goals. Along with the external customer focus, the Service Design Strategist will support research & service design needs to improve internal processes to support growth, internal efficiencies, and customer experience.

About Myriad Genetics' Service Product Organization (SPO)

The SPO is part of Myriad Enterprise Product Management Team, and we partner cross-functionally with teams and customers to scale workflow solutions within large healthcare systems.

Responsibilities

Support teams through the design cycle (from discovery to delivery) using methodologies including ethnography, cultural probes, journey mapping, co-design, rapid prototyping and other appropriate techniques.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret data

Plan and facilitate design workshops with both internal and external stakeholders

Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders

Translate complex ideas into compelling stories (verbally & visually) for a variety of audiences

Ability to quickly map out processes from stakeholders and look at optimizing experiences

Powerful Service Design skills with the ability to take complex workflows to create visual assets: service blueprints, workflow maps, journey maps, and storyboards to communicate the mess

Experience with internal innovation or demonstrated ability to navigate a large complex organization

Experience with creating implementation plans for service and digital solutions

Increase the design maturity of the company and demonstrate the business value of design!

Qualifications

Required

Strong portfolio highlighting service design implementation, design research, systems thinking and project management

Minimum bachelor's required, preferably a master's degree in design. Relevant degree programs: Design Strategy, Service Design, Design Research, Design for Health, Design Management, Graphic Design or another related field

Extensive work experience (5+ years) in service design or a mix of service, UX, design strategy and research design

Experience using human-centered design processes in healthcare

The ability to manage ambiguity and work autonomously

Preferred

Ability to handle shenanigans, decent sense of humor, affinity for euchre

Physical Requirements

Lifting Requirements - light work or exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical Requirements - stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating, observing, pushing or pulling, and reaching. Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions.
