Library General Operations

Job Summary

Perform the day-to-day functions of the library and assist librarians in the acquisition, preparation, and organization of information. Assist library patrons in accessing information. Provide welcoming, courteous, and actively engaged customer service, including greeting and communicating with faculty, staff, students, and community patrons in person, or by phone, email, or online chat, to identify and address their actual service needs.

ResponsibilitiesCreate invoicesSupervise, hire and train staff and/or student workersEnsure proper shipment options are used (i.e., courier service UPS, USPS)Monitor and track loaned Library materials to ensure prompt returnSort material for routing in departmentAnswer procedural questionsCover additional duties in absence of staff membersAssist with special projectsInterlibrary Loan LenderReceive requests from libraries across U.S. and internationallyDetermine ownership of items requested, procedures for loans based on related Library policies and licensing policiesEnsure materials are identified and scanned

Required Qualifications

Educational RequirementsHigh School Diploma and equivalent

Required ExperienceThree (3) or more years of related work experienceTwo (2) years of supervisory experience

Proposed Salary

$17.13 - $18.26 per hour

This is an non-exempt position paid on a bi-weekly basis.
