Summary:

Direct and coordinate sales activities for Uniform Color's North American organization. Plan and implement sales, marketing strategies and customer service programs. Responsible for the hiring, training and direction of all North American salespeople and customer care team members. As the commercial team leader, the position will be a key contributor to the Uniform Color Leadership Team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Corporate Management:Work with the President, Business Directors, and regional leaders to develop a business plan that projects the opportunities for Uniform Color to expand its global corporate sales.Identify the critical issues to be addressed in achieving the objectives and establish short, medium and long-term strategies and plansWork with top management personnel to formulate and establish company policies, operating procedures and goals.Develop and maintain business plan, budget, and metrics for the Sales and Marketing Department.Develop the Sales and Marketing Department Plan that delivers the required support to the Business Directors and Regional Leaders business plan.Engaged in long-term strategies for the organizationDrive company metrics and ability to balance the need for growth and the preservation of spread to maximize profitability.Engaged in company-wide initiatives, particularly engaged with all company personnel.Participate in formulating and administering company policies and develop long-range goals and objectives.Recommend changes to ensure the effective fulfillment of objectives and provide the flexibility to move swiftly in relation to marketing/sales problems and opportunities.Review market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates, and develop sales campaigns to accommodate company goals.Develop and manage sales and marketing operating budgets.

Department Management:Ensure that products are marketed by objectives to obtain maximum profitability and volume with pre-set standards and to general and specific trends within the company.Responsible for establishing sales territories and providing clear and precise goals for the sales department.Review analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department progress toward stated goals and objectives.Provide guidelines from which long-range plans are formulated.Monitor competitors’ projects, sales and marketing activities.Provide day-to-day sales coaching and problem-solving resources.Represent the Company by establishing relationships with customers.Direct staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop and control sales, marketing and service initiatives.Drives the commission procedures, processes, and forms for consistent and accurate payment with the support of the Human Resources Department.Follow UCC Quality System-approved work instructions and procedures and help improve these as needed.Responsible for successful facilitation of all company safety policies and procedures.This position owns the process of “Business Prospecting & Agreements.” As a process owner, you will be responsible for managing the process and its related outputs. You must be able to demonstrate competency to perform this role and it will be assessed as part of our performance management process.

Leadership:Provide insight and coaching for the preparation of presentations, quotes, sales orders and bids.Ensure capable management succession.Implement and refine training and development program per marketing strategy for improved sales.Specifically able to drive a technically oriented sales team striving to add value to the customers and outflank our competitors.Build, develop and manage a sales team capable of carrying out needed sales and service initiatives. Specifically identifying young talent that can be promoted into sales.Develop and implement programs/activities to motivate sales staff.

Experience, Training, and Skills:At least 10 years of industry experienceComprehensive understanding of business-to-business sales and marketing activities3-5 years of progressive Leadership experienceVisionary thinkingStrong organizational skillsProven ability to lead and drive changeProven negotiation skillsAbility to generate and analyze data as part of the decision-making processStrong management skills with the ability to organize programs and presentationsA high degree of interpersonal and communication skills is necessary to promote ideas, motivate people and develop relationships.Possess accurate identification skills of customer requirements for price and delivery specifications.

Physical Requirements:

Based in Holland, MI and expected to travel extensively to support sales team members and facilitate customer engagement.

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Engineering, or other related study.
