WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Field and Donor Communications Manager contributes to and implements the development-specific and field-facing communication strategy, with the goal of planning and creating communications that educate, engage, cultivate, and inspire philanthropic support for and engagement with the National Kidney Foundation and empower local staff with information to perform their roles effectively.

As a bridge between the Development and Marketing/Communications departments, the Manager will collaborate with members throughout the organization to share content and demonstrate the case for supporting NKF in alignment with strategic goals.

Specifically, you will:

Propose, create, and execute communications for internal and external audiences.Evaluate, track, and measure results of communications activities across the departmentProvide day-to-day management of the communications calendarDrive cross-departmental collaboration on the timing of communications to ensure well-timed engagement with key audiences.Research, propose, manage, and write regular and special communications for donors, staff, and prospects that deliver clear and compelling messages about the opportunities for and impact of philanthropic support at NKFReview outward-facing messaging and communications written by others to ensure consistency and unity of the NKF brand voice, style, and tone.Lead analytics and assessment for field and development communications, working with the Vice President to gather results and communicate them broadly in support of the department's strategic goals.Serve as the primary point person for the communications calendar, resolving conflicts and proposing alternate solutions in collaboration with key stakeholdersServe as the primary interface for event communications, working collaboratively to align goals and messaging; and play a key role in providing colleagues with appropriate content to support fundraising or impact-driven outreach to key audiences.Other responsibilities, including periodic communication requests from the People & Culture team (i.e., Kidney Beat, team communications).

WHAT YOU’LL POSSESS

Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of non-profit, fundraising, and/or communications experience preferred.Proven success in email marketing/fundraising and direct mail content strategy preferred.

Problem-solving abilities with the versatility and judgment to draft clear and consistent messages for a variety of audiences.Exceptional collaboration and storytelling background with the ability to translate complex concepts and metrics into persuasive communications.

Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Outcome-driven mindset with the ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities.Proficiency in computer-based information systems.
