Summary (Position Description):

This role involves planning, organizing, and executing design and engineering activities. Responsibilities include Creating and modifying Revit, Solid Works, and AutoCAD Plant 3D models. Refrigeration system design using Revit, Solid Works, AutoCAD and BIM 360. Maintaining BIM standards and libraries. Converting AutoCAD files and importing them into Revit. Creating fabrication drawings from Revit models. Collaborating with subcontractors and suppliers in preparing P&IDs, Block Flow Diagrams, Bill of Materials (BOM) for systems, layouts using AutoCAD and Revit, and creating spool pieces from model. VaCom is a leader in industrial refrigeration product development as well as refrigeration controls and system integration. Our designers must be resourceful and capable of working in a collaborative environment. VaCom mechanical designers are expected to work with engineers in multiple disciplines to develop 3D models for structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering to route piping, electrical cable trays, power and control panels and electrical conduit.Reports To:

Full time, Salary ExemptDuties & Tasks:Management of outside contracts. On a global basis, Bitzer SE has 3,400 employees in 60 locations.Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):Ability to demonstrate a basic understanding of accurate drafting methods, layering, X-References, dimensioning, model space/paper space, viewports, and scaling.Ability to demonstrate using basic Solid Works & Revit MEP tools such as the Project Browser, Properties, Type Selector, piping, valves, instruments for both P&IDs and Orthographic drawings, and inserting a variety of family types.An understanding of creating families and manipulating of parameters and schedules.Must be capable of importing different file types and performing clash detection.Experience in using Microsoft Office products.Willingness to learn, have strong organizational and analytical skills.Be self-motivated and take pride in their work.Accept responsibility for professionalism.Have excellent collaborative and organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively.Be capable of building trusting relationshipsAbility and willingness to work independently and as part of a team.Requirements:Bachelor's or associates degree in CAD, drafting studies, mechanical engineering, or construction.Minimum eight years of AutoCAD, Solid Works, Revit, Navisworks or other 3D design experience, preferably with experience in current AutoCAD software and mechanical piping systems.Knowledge of refrigeration system operations.Valid Driver's LicenseDomestic travel to client jobsites.Work Environment:Primarily office environment but will include occasional oversight on the fabrication shop floor.Occasional travel to worksites requiring employee to follow jobsite safety requirements and PPESafe, diverse, and collaborative work culture with mechanical engineering, controls, sales and operations staff working to fulfill orders.Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, use hands, and reach.
