$148,171-$194,953 annuallyPosition Description:The Digital Foundry sets the strategy for a portfolio of enterprise-wide products and platforms enabling the activities of administrative and academic stakeholders across the university. The Digital Foundry team facilitates and conducts quality assurance, testing, release management, application lifecycle management, and UI/UX for core enterprise technologies ensuring functionality, quality, business value, user-experience, and digital accessibility of the products and platforms meet the expectations of the campus community. The Digital Foundry fuels ITS' cloud-first strategy by strategically reducing technical debt in partnership with other departments and teams leveraging cutting-edge techniques to accelerate releases using automation and application lifecycle management standards and tools.Human Centered Design and Digital Accessibility understands the university, its stakeholders, and their technology needs and desires to inform the design of products, platforms, departmental or functional processes, digital solutions, and IT services through extensive UI/UX research and development. Assess and enable accessibility of software, enterprise applications, and electronic/digital resources. Conduct accessibility reviews, enable compliance with accessibility standards, execute ongoing analysis, and support end-user training/awareness.The Manager, Product Strategy and Human Centered Design plays a critical role in delivering user-centered design solutions that meet the needs of UCLA's diverse end-users. This manager will have the opportunity to oversee UI, UX, and accessibility work for a wide range of products, platforms, applications, and technologies that impact the teaching, learning, research, and administration for the university's students, faculty, and staff.This role will manage a team of talented UX designers, UX researchers, and UI developers and will drive the team's strategy to ensure exceptional user experience, including accessibility, for the technologies managed by the IT organization. Together with other IT leaders, this manager enables delivery of a cross-functional human-centered design experience for UCLA's IT end users.The Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product/application development, DevOps, and Quality Assurance/Release Management, to ensure the successful implementation and upgrade of human-centered technology solutions. The Manager, Product Strategy and Human Centered Design will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by ensuring UCLA's products and applications are human-centered, efficient, and effective in service of the university's academic mission. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values.Special Instructions:This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that includes regular visits to campus as needed (for those who work remotely, travel/lodging expenses are not eligible for reimbursement). The anticipated pay range for this position is $148,171 - $194,593; salary is dependent upon the skills and experience of the selected finalist.
