Student Accessibility Services:Student Accessibility Services (SAS) works with 3,500+ students with disabilities every year to facilitate equal access and reasonable accommodations. SAS works closely with faculty, Housing, and other departments to ensure disabled students experience equal opportunity to the campus experience. SAS also explores ways in which the UCF experience can be proactively designed with disability access and inclusion considered from the outset so as to minimize the need for reactive accommodations. Overall, SAS' accessibility work spans most areas of campus with opportunities for various engagement and the ability to make a campus impact.

The Opportunity:The Captioned Video Assistant is essential to ensuring equal access for students by providing captioning support to Student Accessibility Services and the University of Central Florida. This role involves collaborating with students, faculty, staff, and vendors to caption over 75,000 minutes of video content annually, delivering timely captioned videos for UCF courses.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate with professors, students, vendors, and others to ensure that students who receive the captioned video accommodation receive all necessary captioned videos within a timely manner and in accordance with the UCF Digital Accessibility Policy.

Manage tremendous amounts of details regarding course video content, time frames by when captions must be included, vendor time frames, and other notifications and spreadsheets necessary to successfully coordinate the captioned video accommodation.

Communicate effectively with students, faculty, UCF staff, and the SAS team regarding captioned video process details; requires effective verbal and written communication abilities.

Support SAS with reviewing and approving vendor invoices for services and vendor contract management.

Support SAS in other areas included, but not limited to, interpreting, classroom captioning, final exams, and other accommodation processes.

Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experienceor an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience reviewing captions.

Minimum of one year of higher education experience.

Proficiency in Canvas.

Strong attention to detail and Excel proficiency.
