What you'll be doing...

The Manager of Base Marketing Strategy works across the Verizon Base Value Marketing organization and cross functionally with the Value Organization to identify and develop key strategic plans to drive growth within Verizon Value. You will be a key member of the Value Marketing Strategy and Operations team supporting overall Portfolio strategy. You will be responsible for working with Marketing Leadership, Commercial Directors, and Marketing Directors to craft both near term and long term Base Management roadmaps, strategic decisions and recommendations, and results. You will be responsible for understanding both quant and qual data and working with teams to develop the insights to underpin the overall strategy. This role is for a builder, someone who wants to see impact in the work they do every day and have an incredible opportunity to drive a portfolio of brands and business to stay #1 in the category. You will provide thought leadership and recommendations to Verizon Value Marketing's most senior leaders on relevant topics in the base marketing space, with objective, clear, impactful analysis that lead to recommendations that are aligned on and presented in a clear and concise manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting the strategic planning process for marketing and driving its implementation to other operational activities (e.g., capital allocation, budgeting, portfolio strategy, base strategy and operational alignment meetings).Developing strategy from insights/results and building the narrative to help cross functional and external partners understand via slide-ware.Developing a comprehensive understanding of the entire Value Marketing Brand portfolio and business objectives.Developing structured, short-term and long-term perspectives for key marketing campaigns and channels with a strong first to market and disruptive mindset.Translating strategy into key initiatives that, upon execution, deliver the strategy.Working closely with Verizon Value functional teams to ensure marketing strategy delivers objective strategic rationale.Leading cross-functional teams within marketing in collaboration to drive initiatives and business results.Partnering with Verizon Value and Marketing partner leadership to leverage market insights that identify and conceptualize new opportunities that will advance business goals.Supporting preparation of strategy presentations for major Governance meetings (e.g. Executive Leadership, Cross-Functional Teams, Marketing Partners and Retailers, etc.).Developing effective presentations.

You love marketing, CRM, and base management. You are curious and love to dig into the 'why' around what people and brands do and how they make their decisions. You understand differing distribution channels, the consumer lifecycle, and varied customer need states. You know that Value means different things to different people. You can see the bigger picture, and help others see it, too. You enjoy digging through data for insight and translating that into opportunities for how we can help our members and customers connect. You are extremely comfortable with working in ambiguous environments. You are a self-starter, a creative and innovative thinker, and love to compete and win!

You'll need to have:Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.Six or more years of relevant work experience.Willingness to travel approximately up to 25%.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:MBA, Master's, or advanced degree.Two or more years of experience in marketing strategy, general strategy, consulting, or similar experience.Background in driving telecom sales, subscriptions, technology sales and/or advertising.Experience in strategic thinking with being able to analyze data to make appropriate process/business decisions/recommendations and shape strategy.Experience in analyzing marketing, industry trends, and the ability to find opportunities for Verizon Value Marketing growth based on this research.Experience in supporting executive-level communications in a rapid-paced environment.Experience in working in a large, dynamic, complex organization, where developing strong interpersonal relationships and leading through influence are keys to success.Ability to have naturally collaborative approach as you will be working in a cross-functional environment.Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills (e.g., storyboarding, executive proposal creation, presentation of said proposals).Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including robust financial modeling skills and the ability to perform and review quantitative analysis with relative autonomy.Strong self-initiative - ability to deal with high degree of ambiguity and drive clarity in key areas while working in a fast-paced environment.
