Marketing Specialist

Note: This is a contract position with a 6 months end date from date of hire.

Please read the following job description thoroughly to ensure you are the right fit for this role before applying.In this entry-level role, this position revolves around establishing and maintaining strong branding and our online presence of our Department. This position involves creating engaging content across various platforms, including press releases, updating web site content and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, GoogleMyBusiness, and YouTube). This role will require to strategize and schedule news releases and posts, and actively monitor trends to keep content relevant and appealing to the target audience.Collaboration within the Department and UCSF Health will be necessary to ensure cohesive branding and messaging. The overall goal is to build brand awareness, drive engagement, and ultimately contribute to the Department's mission (Pioneering musculoskeletal discovery and innovative care to transform lives.) and its four pillars: clinical care (adult and pediatric), education, research and outreach.Department Description: The Department of Orthopedic Surgery is responsible for the department's academic, teaching, patient care professional services and research activities under the UCSF School of Medicine. The department has over 400 academic and staff personnel at multiple sites (UC, Mt. Zion, MB, SFGH, and VAMC).Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/trainingGood organizational skillsGood written, verbal and interpersonal communication skillsBasic knowledge of marketing principles, strategies, techniques and practicesMust feel comfortable working in AP style, and UCSF style guidelinesBasic knowledge of HTML/CSS to make minor website edits and adjustmentsPreferred Qualifications
