Growing together.The Office of Health Equity (OHE) Director of Health Equity Content is responsible for the development and execution of the OHE’s content strategy.  In this role, the leader will develop a library of content that is supportive of both the efforts of the OHE directly, but also the impact that the enterprise is having on advancing efforts to address health equity.  The position will be both responsible for the development of the strategy for content as well as directly responsible for the creation of content.  The leader will develop a thorough understanding of the enterprise health equity content needs (e.g. RFP trends, marketing material needs) and will ensure the development of content fulfills the broad spectrum of business demands.  The position will also develop the internal value story for the work of the OHE to be used for ongoing education and engagement of employees in the work of advancing health equity.  The director will work with teams/leaders across OHE who will serve as subject matter experts to develop up-to-date content of key initiatives executed by the OHE and business/functions across the enterprise.  Among the initiatives that the director will be responsible for maintaining up-to-date content would be Optum and UnitedHealthcare Catalyst, Communities of Health, Impact Investments and enterprise-wide disparity reduction initiatives and programs.  The position is responsible for collaborating with the Office of Sustainability to ensure that the OHE value story aligns to broader ESG value stories and ensures an intentional connection between health equity and the other functions within the Office of Sustainability.  The position is accountable for owning the creation of content to support the development of the Sustainability Report and other activities including engagement with investors and Board of Director materials.  The leader is responsible for coordinating content development across teams within OHE to meet requests for information.  The director is responsible for serving as the conduit to UHG communications teams to develop material to support communications efforts beyond the Sustainability report.  This will include development of external messaging for press releases/newsroom stories, content for speaking engagements for senior leaders, and internal messaging to support employee engagement and People Team efforts.  The position is also responsible for identifying key social media messaging – aligned to communications expectations and policies – to advance market presence for the Sr. VP Health Equity Strategy and other leaders.  The position maintains an in-depth knowledge of the business development objectives of UnitedHealthcare and Optum as it relates to proposal language, formal presentations, marketing materials, internal and external communication campaigns, and other supporting content for customer-specific engagements, thought leadership opportunities, and speaking engagements. The director develops an appreciation of the target audiences for the variety of business development needs and ensures the Office of Health Equity content is appropriately tailored to each unique situation. The position is responsible to collect and summarize market competitive intelligence for UnitedHealthcare and Optum which ensures the Office of Health Equity’s value story differentiates the businesses from competitors and positions the businesses as industry leading, where appropriate.  The director manages the Office of Health Equity email inbox and serves as the main point of contact for marketing, communication, and sales support inquiries from internal business partners and engages the Office of Health Equity leaders as appropriate to confirm required content to be leveraged or to collaborate in the development in new customized materials. The position also collaborates with internal partners (Sales, Communications, Creative, Proposal, Legal, Policy, Regulatory, Product and Marketing) and external vendors or agency partners to create and implement content that supports the businesses’ objectives. The position maintains the Office of Health Equity Sparq and knowledge management sites to serve as the source of truth for approved marketing materials and proposal language for UnitedHealthcare and Optum businesses. The director performs regular refreshes of the content as new business needs emerge and/or the Office of Health Equity matures existing initiatives and launches new initiatives. The director attends cross-functional growth, proposal, marketing and communication meetings to represent the Office of Health Equity to provide marketing updates, results, and status of key initiatives. The director will create a measurement framework that will enable Office of Health Equity leaders to understand the success of different content strategies and marketing initiatives. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.   Primary Responsibilities:Develop go-to-market content, tailored to the specific medium and audience requirements (e.g., PowerPoint presentations, marketing materials [fliers/brochures/direct mail/web content], advertisements, newsletter articles, talking points/scripting, FAQs, boilerplates)Maintain a library of marketing and communications assets to support the Office of Health Equity, ensuring assets are aligned to corporate brand, legal, privacy and compliance standards for UnitedHealth Group, UnitedHealthcare and Optum businesses. Collaborate with RFP teams to maintain standard health equity proposal language that articulates health equity programming specific to UnitedHealthcare and Optum businesses and community health initiatives. Develop, manage, and maintain relationships with internal (product, sales, operations, legal, creative, etc.) and external stakeholders and keep them informed about marketing initiatives.Develop content and solicit insights/feedback from subject matter experts across the Office of Health Equity and UnitedHealthcare and Optum business teams to drive projects forward; Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
