SUMMARY:The Senior Instructional Designer leverages a strong technical background to create learning solutions tailored to the Oil and Gas/Pipeline industries. This role involves leading high-profile projects, conducting front-end analysis, scoping new projects, overseeing ongoing initiatives, and mentoring team members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead pre-sales conversations, focusing on business outcomes and expanding client discussions beyond immediate learning needs.Conduct front-end analysis to identify performance gaps and define project scopes.Develop project scopes aligned with client objectives and industry standards.Direct and support Learning Designers and Consultants, ensuring quality and innovation in technical training solutions.Collaborate with clients to align learning strategies with business objectives in regulated and safety-critical environments.Oversee the creative vision for digital learning projects, ensuring industry-specific knowledge is integrated.Track project progress, review deliverables, and ensure adherence to quality standards.Mentor and coach team members in using methodologies and technologies relevant to technical training.Plan and design learner journeys and architecture blueprints tailored to technical competencies.Lead client workshops to identify needs and craft solutions for the Oil and Gas/Pipeline industries.Develop data-informed organizational strategies with implementation roadmaps.Design measurement strategies to assess learning effectiveness and ensure compliance with industry standards.Engage with sales teams to propose solutions that meet client budgets and technical needs.Promote innovation in learning design, sharing relevant trends and concepts with the team.

SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES:Extensive experience in learning design within technical fields, particularly Oil and Gas/Pipeline industries.Strong understanding of industry-specific technologies, safety protocols, and regulations.Proven ability to create innovative learning solutions for technical and safety-critical environments.Expertise in user experience design for technical training, including recent advancements in technology.Experience leading teams and managing multiple projects in the Oil and Gas/Pipeline sectors.Knowledge of SCORM, LMSs, Tin Can/xAPI, and advanced learning solutions.Ability to map learner journeys, create architecture blueprints, and design organizational strategies for technical training.Skilled in defining and executing measurement strategies in technically demanding fields.Strong communication skills, particularly in pitching design concepts to technical stakeholders.Experience mentoring teams in learning design with a focus on technical training.

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Engineering, or a related field, with 8 years of experience in technical learning design.Or a degree in another relevant field with 10 years of experience in industrial or technical environments.Or 12 years of experience in technical training design, particularly in the Oil and Gas/Pipeline industries.
