We are a team within R&D dedicated to the safe verification and launch of Volvo Cars’ autonomous drive products within the United States, starting with California. You will be joining a cross-functional team consisting of vehicle technicians, engineers, fleet managers, and operations specialists.What you will do

Create validation plans based on product requirements, regulatory requirements, and local edge cases to thoroughly test autonomous software in-simulation before deployment to test vehiclesCreate and maintain simulation test scenarios using Volvo Cars’ toolsCreate and maintain test cases as part of system performance evaluations and continuous integrationCreate and maintain internal tools for test scenarios, dashboards, reporting, data annotation, and data analysisWork with engineers to determine how to test different parts of the software stack and report back test failuresMake recommendations to field testing team to test autonomous software in-vehicle in various environmentsParticipate in any technical event investigations that occur as a result of the team’s field testing of the autonomous softwareWhat you will bring

Master’s degree in Computer Science,Computer Software Engineering or a related fieldStrong analytical thinking and creative problem-solving skillsStrong ability in debugging complex issues spanning multiple systemsExcellent written and spoken English communication skillsExperience

8+ years working as a software engineer required3+ years of experience creating and executing test plans for software and hardware systems required3+ years working in the automotive sector preferredPrevious experience working with autonomous vehicle systems preferred

Required skills

Python requiredVehicle signaling (Ethernet, CAN, LIN, FlexRay, etc) requiredC/C++ preferredUnderstanding of driving and traffic simulation data exchange standards such as OpenScenario, OpenDrive and OSI preferred

The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon a range of factors such as a candidate’s relevant skills and experience, education and certifications, and other organizational needs.
