Executive Director of Interior Design

As the executive director of interior design, you will lead the conceptualization, development, and execution of interior design, architecture, and construction projects by integrating new and creative design thinking. In this role you are responsible for preparing plans for approval by executive administration and stakeholders; providing leadership, supervision, and motivation to the teams; and collaborating with other departments and staff to achieve overall project goals. Responsibilities include acting as the point of contact for clients; developing and managingproject timelines, budgets, and resources; ensuring that designs align with all requirements, budget constraints, and project timelines; building and maintaining strong colleague, client, and vendor relationships for coordination purposes; and leading quality control.The executive director’s duties include conducting work reviews to ensure university standards are met; providing constructive feedback to enhance design quality; staying informed on industry trends, new materials, and innovative design practices; and fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Among other duties, you will adhere to all applicable codes, laws, OSHA regulations, and safe practices.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture, or a closely related discipline and a minimum of 10 years of related professional experience OR combination of education/training and experienceProficient in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, Sketchup, Revit, or other similar design applicationsAdept at communicating concepts through visual presentation and verbal communicationExcellent leadership, team management, and project management skillsAcceptance as SCAD authorized driverPreferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in related field with five years of related experience and/or training or the equivalent combination of education and experienceProficiency in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Revit, or other design applicationsTeam and project management experience in fast-paced, high-energy environmentAbility to handle multiple, multicomponent projects and deadlinesCertificates, licenses, and registrations:Valid driver’s license As the executive director of interior design, you will lead the conceptualization, development, and execution of interior design, architecture, and construction projects by integrating new and creative design thinking.
