is seeking a Revenue Editor to oversee rapid incremental revenue growth in sports in the nation's largest newspaper chain.

The Revenue Editor will work alongside Network sports leaders to maximize incremental revenue generation through new partnerships, growth and retention of existing partnerships, written content designed to attract affiliate link click-throughs for gambling, streaming, etc., and through an expanded commemorative books initiative (and much, much more).

This content position will work collaboratively with sales teams to service the sports enterprise, including USA TODAY, Golfweek, MMAJunkie, For The Win, dozens of NFL and College Wire sites and more than 230 local news organizations.

The Revenue Editor will be a dynamic self-starter who is highly organized, supremely efficient and a champion collaborator who can create clear vision for success and evangelize sports leaders across the enterprise to achieve maximizes results.

This salaried position will maximize all impulse-buy opportunities, including during peak content nights and weekends for sports streaming, tickets, etc., and tentpole events.

A deep understanding of multiple areas of sports coverage is required.

This position is remote and can be based anywhere in the US, except for Alaska and Hawaii.

Responsibilities:Uphold the highest journalistic standard in the industry.Provide exemplary leadership and execute the strategic vision for growing revenue at intimately local and national levels.Develop and implement a multi-platform vision for achieving revenue growth.Collaborate with USA TODAY Network sports editors to complement their strategies through a revenue lens.Coordinate production of more than a dozen book projects per year, working with newsroom leaders to maximize profit and hit deadlines.Create robust short-range and long-range revenue growth plans and execute them fully.The ideal candidate can conduct a dialogue that is intellectually honest, brings out diversity of ideas and creates the appropriate integration/connectivity.Strong communicator of the company's strategic initiatives, purpose, vision, culture and plan.

Requirements:Bachelor's or master's degree in journalism or any other subject or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum 5 years of experience as a respected journalism leader, with emphasis on digital content, SEO strategy and revenue generation.A history of successful leadership, innovation and goal achievement.Has excellent news judgment.Demonstrated change leader who collaborates and communicates effectively.Comfortable with public speaking and a commitment to staff interaction.Understanding of the changing media landscape and ability to adapt revenue strategies that address continually changing algorithms and local + national market interests.Demonstrated strong competitive instincts and intellectual curiosity.Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and coordinate in an environment of accountability.

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $68,400 and $161,000. Variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and union representation, if applicable.
