Montana State University is a NCAA Division I institution. As a member of the Big Sky Conference, it sponsors 15 varsity sports. The Director of Marketing and Game Operations reports to the Deputy Athletic Director – External Relations and is responsible for the comprehensive marketing strategy of Bobcat Athletics, promoting its brand, teams, and events through multiple marketing channels, and operating in-game operations.Position Number:

OpenGeneral Statement:

The Director of Marketing and Game Operations is responsible for promoting Bobcat Athletics and generating revenue through marketing, corporate sponsorships, licensing, multi-media rights, ticket sales, and social media. This position requires initiation and execution of targeted multi-platform marketing campaigns with a focus on optimizing communications with consumer audiences while acquiring/retaining consumers to increase game day attendance.Duties and Responsibilities:Develop and implement a multi-year, multi-platform marketing strategy for the Athletic Department to increase attendance.Partner with the Bobcat Ticket Office to integrate new marketing into existing tools and systems.Create and execute real-time brand content during live events.Manage the strategy, creation, and distribution of content for Bobcat Athletics social media accounts.Track and analyze social/digital metrics to deliver performance reports.Oversee promotional game management for all sports.Assist in the design and development of promotional materials.Develop and implement a social media strategy to increase brand awareness and fan participation.Act as the liaison between Athletics and the student body.Supervise game operations personnel and in-game promotional staff.Supervise interns, hourly staff, and student workers.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Sport Administration, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.Significant experience in digital and event marketing in collegiate athletics or professional sports.Proven brand building skills and creative thought process.Experience with multi-channel marketing, including web, social, mobile, and email marketing campaigns.Knowledge of web analytics such as SEO, Google Analytics, and AdWords.Experience with email marketing platforms and tracking analytics.Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in a related field.Examples of previous work in marketing campaigns.Progressive experience at a NCAA Division I or professional sports level.Knowledge of Big Sky Conference and NCAA rules and regulations.The Successful Candidate Will:Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.Function as a collaborative team leader in a fast-paced environment.Possess excellent organization skills and a strong work ethic.Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external constituents.Demonstrate superior organization, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.Position Special Requirements:
