Work LocationPosition SummaryDirector, Scientific Communications, GBS will be a strategic partner responsible for developing, managing, and executing scientific content across various platforms to support Annexon’s medical and scientific objectives focused on Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS). This role involves creating high-quality scientific materials, managing communication processes, and ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices. This position will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to advance the scientific messaging and impact of Annexon’s therapeutic areas. This role will report to the Vice President of Medical Affairs.ResponsibilitiesDevelop scientific content for but not limited to non-CME presentations at medical conferences, advisory board meetings, congress exhibits, field medical presentations, and internal Annexon meetings.Develop standard and customized responses to medical information requests from external parties including but not limited to health care professionals, patients, and health care organizations.Establish and implement a process for tracking all scientific communications across Annexon to ensure timely, and compliant execution of Annexon’s scientific/medical communication plan.Collaborate with internal stakeholders in Program Strategy & Operations, and all functional areas to ensure real-time knowledge, and on-time execution of data communications, including but not limited to congress abstract submissions, publications, and external Annexon presentations.Manage all scientific communication plan timelines and communicate regularly with all internal and external stakeholders.Represent Annexon with external stakeholders such as authors, journals, scientific/medical societies, and other relevant third parties.Represent medical affairs as reviewer at Annexon MLR meetings.Manage the partnership with Annexon’s publication and medical education vendor(s).Maintain cutting edge knowledge of all regulations and best practices for scientific communication, and education.QualificationsGraduate level degree in health sciences, pharmacy, or public health required.A minimum of 10 years’ experience in biopharma Medical Affairs, Medical Information, publications, and/or operations.Therapeutic area expertise in immunology, neurology, and/or ophthalmology.Proven partner management skills to achieve results based on key performance indicators.Thorough knowledge of pharmaceutical product development, product lifecycle, and commercialization process.Knowledge of GPP, and all applicable regional, and international regulations and guidelines.Project management, and resource planning/management experience.Skilled at effectively communicating complex scientific/clinical concepts and data in written and oral forms.Experienced at engagement and scientific exchange with scientists and clinicians.Proven record of solving problems coupled with exhibiting good judgement regarding relevant issues.What Annexon offersDiversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging are important to us.
