The Opportunity:As a

Benefits Marketing Representative , you will travel to locations within your assigned region(s) in Washington State to deliver retirement planning presentations and information to employers, employee groups, and individual members. In this role you will provide on-going support and education about the Washington State Employee retirement benefit options through a variety of outreach efforts which may include in person or virtual group presentations, benefits fairs, email, print material, and social media posts and groups.

Some of what you'll do:

Developing and delivering in-person and virtual retirement planning presentations to small and large groups within assigned region(s) in Washington State.Identifying and contacting employers in assigned region(s) who are not enrolled in Deferred Compensation Plan (DCP) to explain program benefits, enrollment processes, and to answer questions regarding DCP.Establishing and maintaining relationships and regular contact with employers to ensure they have materials necessary to educate their employees regarding Washington State retirement benefits.Meeting individually with public employees to answer basic questions regarding their retirement system and DCP. Meetings may be pre-scheduled and take place in conjunction with benefit fairs or seminars.Developing and designing presentations or educational content on various retirement benefit topics that may be posted on public-facing sites or used for internal training.Collaborating with the DRS Education & Outreach Team to ensure retirement planning curriculum and marketing tools are current, effective, and meet the needs of a variety of audiences.Maintaining data including employer contact information; the number, type, and attendance records of presentations delivered each month; and preparing and submitting reports as required showing outreach activity.NOTE:This position requires regular travel, up to 50% of the time, within the assigned region(s) in Washington State

. Travel is seasonal and is more frequent in fall and spring.

You will have occasional overnight trips, some evening work, and will be required to work approximately 6 Saturday seminars each year. Occasionally, additional weekend events to meet employer requests may be required. Member seminars and other trainings may be virtual or in-person.

This position is remote during the typical workweek.

The ability to work remotely is dependent on the presence of a remote work environment that is safe and has an appropriate level of reliable connectivity.

You must live within a reasonable commuting distance (within a 3-hour radius) to the DRS building in Tumwater, WA,

and must be willing to adjust your telework schedule occasionally to attend in-person mandatory meetings, trainings, etc., at the DRS facility.QualificationsWhat we're looking for (required qualifications):

Demonstrated experience

providing education/information on a complex subject or topic to a variety of audiences. The ideal candidate will have outreach/education experience informing, educating, and engaging with diverse audiences on various issues, policies, or programs (experience providing education or information about employee benefits is highly desirable).

This is typically gained through at least three (3) years of professional experience;

An associates degree (or higher) in marketing, education, communication, or a closely related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience.Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite, (version 2016 or newer) including proficiency in PowerPoint;

Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desirable;

If the successful candidate is bilingual, 5% dual language pay will be added to the annual salary

Must have a current Washington State drivers' license prior to hire;
