Administrative Assistant

to join their growing team.

The Administrative Assistant

is a brand ambassador and is responsible for providing a warm welcome to every patient, every time. This role must provide outstanding customer service to each patient either on the phone or in person. This role is also responsible for utilizing the Electronic Health Record system in a professional and efficient manner.

The Ideal Applicant Will Have Experience With Prior Authorizations:

Completing and updating patients' insurance information with accuracy and efficiencyUtilizes the Electronic Health Record system to complete the registration process and facilitate the patients' visit with their Physician, Certified Nurse Midwife, and/or the diagnostic technicianVerifying insurance eligibility to ensure timely billing to a third-party vendorCollect co-pays and deductibles as directed by the billing policiesSchedule appointments for the patients at one of the office sitesAuthorize scheduled procedures to include surgeries, medications, imaging, and other items needing authorization with insurance. Verify eligibility and benefits for all procedure codes.Pre-collect payment for OB Contracts and other procedures (IUDs) as required by departmentDocument work processes as requiredCoordinate processes and route all paperwork as required to meet physician and facility requirementsMust be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situationsDemonstrate courtesy and helpfulness toward patients and/or their familiesEnsure efficient telephone communication when requiredWork as a team member within the authorizations department and all other departmentsPerform other related duties as assignedMust have a strong commitment to providing exceptional service and ensuring each patient's encounter with our practice is professional, warm, and caringExperience in a medical setting preferredExcellent attention to detailPrevious customer service experience required1 year previous medical office experience preferredStrong communication skills both oral and written
