News Video Editor- DC Bureau

Sinclair Broadcast Group's Capitol Hill bureau has an opening for a News Video Editor. The ideal candidate is a creative visual storyteller who will be able to juggle projects and handle multiple deadlines per week. You will cover day-to-day general, in-depth, features, and investigative assignments, especially issues involving Congress and the White House.

Responsibilities will involve editing video for broadcast and digital platforms. You should have strong editing skills in non-linear edit systems, experience implementing creative graphics, and the ability to work efficiently under deadline pressure. You should possess excellent people skills, a strong work ethic, and have a great attitude. A passion for storytelling is essential in this position.

Requirements:

At least three (3) years of video editing experience required

Experience editing broadcast news packages under daily deadlines is preferred

Experience with non-linear editing systems like AVID, Adobe Premiere, or Final Cut Pro

Basic graphics skills

Strong interest in news

Be an aggressive team player who can produce great stories under tight deadlines

Technical knowledge of editing and video equipment is required

Ability to execute during breaking news events

Ability to demonstrate creativity in storytelling

Ability to work under deadline and on a flexible schedule is required, including some nights and weekends when breaking news warrants
