SCCM has a generous remote work policy, and much of this position is work-from-home. However, you must be able to work from the office when your supervisor requires it. You must reside in or plan to relocate to the Chicagoland area.Primary purpose:

Develops and implements marketing and communications activities to promote journal engagement and contributes to the achievement of the strategic objectives of all SCCM journals.Responsibilities

I. Journal project managementWorks with cross-departmental teams, journal editors, and the journal publisher to develop and approve journal marketing and communications activities, ensuring alignment of SCCM’s editorial and communications teams.Develops effective messaging, design, and content delivery while ensuring scientific and medical accuracy and appropriateness for SCCM journal audiences.Ensures proper placement of SCCM journal resources, events, and products in SCCM communication channels.Develops and coordinates a visual abstract program highlighting SCCM journal articles.II. Marketing and communications strategyImplements and promotes the visual identity and brand of SCCM journals, ensuring accurate, consistent, and positive portrayal in all communications.Communicates and works with SCCM journal editors to determine highlighted content from each journal.Coordinates monthly journal podcasts, including topic selection, crafting descriptions, scheduling, and promotion.Develops and produces a monthly electronic newsletter that highlights SCCM journals.Develops content for SCCM’s quarterly newsmagazine focused on SCCM journals.Coordinates with external writers on development of feature articles and press releases.Coordinates and updates content on all journal websites.Generates, edits, and publishes content for multiple social media platforms as it relates to the journals to meet key performance indicators for engagement.Regularly monitors marketing and communications trends to inform decision-making and strategy.III. Metrics and reportingIn collaboration with the journal editors and editorial team, maintains an overall journal metrics dashboard highlighting journal usage, Altmetric performance, citation activity, and journal processing times.Understands and uses key metrics, including response rates, journal metrics, and demographics of campaign responders to inform adjustments in ongoing marketing communications strategies.Ensures accomplishment of key benchmarks and performance indicators for marketing and communications strategies.Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, English, or a related fieldMinimum five years’ experience in marketing, communications, or publicationsExcellent communication, writing, editing, and project management skillsAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneously with great attention to detailExperience working with scholarly journals preferredUnderstanding of creative workflow process, including project initiation and kickoff, execution, approvals, production, proofing, tracking, and archivingExperience working with Canva, Microsoft Dynamics and Marketing Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite preferredExperience with website CMS preferred
