This role is essential to enhancing the communication efforts of the district, covering our four school buildings and the district as a whole. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing multiple communication channels, creating engaging content and showcasing the achievements of our students and staff as well as events within our school community.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field preferredExperience in a communications role, preferably within an educational or non-profit organization preferredProficiency in website management, social media platforms, basic photography and video production/editingStrong graphic skills with experience in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar softwareExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently or as part of a team and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyPassion for storytelling and community engagement
Essential Functions and Representative Duties
Oversee and update website for the District and its four buildingsCreate, produce and share engaging social media posts and/or videosUpdate and manage content for the district’s marquee and Legacy WallCapture photos/or videos of building and district events, ensuring comprehensive coverageCompile and produce a quarterly newsletter to keep the community informed of student achievements, district news and eventsOther duties as assigned
Work EnvironmentWork is performed at all buildings within the district. There is limited exposure to physical risk.
Terms of EmploymentThis is a part time position, 20 to 25 hours per week, with a flexible schedule
Reports To:Superintendent of Schools
Compensation:$15 to $18 per hour, dependent upon experience.
