Provide deep editorial support for Research publications that reflects an understanding of underlying economic principles, applications to policy, and complex subject matters.Ensure research outputs are clear, concise, and accessible to targeted audiences.Work with authors at critical stages of developing Bank publications and assist with developing the writing skills of staff.Edit and occasionally write ad hoc materials for web content or special projects that ensure a consistent style and clear communication of Research key messages.Maintain a broad and extensive understanding of economics, finance, monetary policy, and Client.Ensure publications adhere to Bank policies and protocol. Liaise with Public Affairs writers, copy editors, and designers.Develop and oversee publication schedules by coordinating with authors and other subject matter experts within the department and serve as primary liaison to Bank partners across departments on publications and web content.Develop strategies to improve communication of research outputs and web content to ensure outputs are accessible to their targeted audience.Perform other duties as assigned or requested.The Economic Editor leverages excellent editing skills and an understanding of economic principles to improve the accessibility of research products, including highly technical publications, for the appropriate audience(s). The successful candidate collaborates closely with economists and can absorb complex topics and translate them to ensure publications effectively communicate the intended message. One of the main responsibilities will be balancing ideas and feedback, enhancing the clarity and accuracy of research publications while adhering to quality, risk, and style guidelines of Client Bank of Atlanta.Education:

Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent required; advanced degree in economics, business, journalism, or English a plus. Coursework or background in Economics strongly preferred.Experience:

Related work experience 5+ years editing complex or technical content to make it accessible to a broader audience.Exceptional editorial skills with the ability to rapidly absorb complex ideas and distill them into accessible and impactful copy.Effective and adaptive interpersonal skills, collaborative and strong verbal and written communication.Working knowledge of economic principles and current economic issues and a strong interest in economics and public policy.Ability to work under deadlines and balance a range of short-term and long-term projects with consistent attention to detail.Mastery of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel) and preferably LaTex and Overleaf.Knowledge Areas:Exceptional editorial skills with the ability to rapidly absorb complex ideas and distill them into accessible and impactful copy.Effective and adaptive interpersonal skills, collaborative and strong verbal and written communication.Working knowledge of economic principles and current economic issues and a strong interest in economics and public policy.Ability to work under deadlines and balance a range of short-term and long-term projects with consistent attention to detail.Technical Skills:Mastery of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel) and preferably LaTex and Overleaf.
