Job Description
Concept Photography is the UK's largest early years photography company providing mobile studio photography in nurseries, Pre-Schools, and playgroups.
We are seeking new members to join our friendly team of photographers to provide this service
within and around 20-30 miles of Newport. Ideally, the perfect candidate will need to live in this area
due to the nature of the role and travel required.
Desirable applicants must be enthusiastic, patient, and able to communicate with people of all ages in a friendly and professional manner.
Being an early years photographer is the perfect role for someone who loves being around babies and children, is confident in working independently, a problem solver, and not afraid to be a bit silly every now and again to make our little subjects feel comfortable around them!
We are looking for candidates that share the same passion for photography as we do at Concept. We offer shoots indoors with our mobile studio set up (provided by us) and outdoors in the outdoor play areas/gardens of the settings. Therefore, a versatile photographer with a creative imagination is key.
Experience with Photoshop and/or Lightroom is essential due to the post-processing needed before images are sent to our head office. This also includes you having your own Mac or PC and Adobe photography package.
MUST HAVES BEFORE YOU APPLY FOR THE ROLE
Experience in studio-style photography setup and lighting.
Must have full UK driving license and access to own car/van.
Professional standard Digital camera & professional level short range zoom lens (example 24-70mm f2.8).
Must clear an enhanced DBS Check organized through our head office.
Flexibility for scheduling.
Positive can-do attitude.
Great communicator and ability to build rapport with children, parents, and staff.
Experience in Early Years Portraits desirable.
WHAT CONCEPT SUPPLY
Full studio setup - including backdrops, stands, lights, and seasonal props.
Full initial training and ongoing training and support.
Schedules organized in advance to aid you with any outside freelance work you have.
WHAT THE JOB ENTAILS
Commuting safely to the shoot via car/van.
Setting up mobile studio or outdoor setup.
Photographing all children at the nursery.
Safely commuting back from your day's job.
Backing up images.
Editing down and cropping.
Cleaning/editing images to the standard Concept requires.
Sending images over to head office.
Moving on to the next job!
HOURS AND PAY
Due to the nature of our business, we have very busy and quiet seasons throughout the year. Seasons peak between April to mid-July and then again from mid-September through to the end of November.
Early starts may be required for this role. Most settings we cover have a start time between 8 am-9 am arrival at the destination.
Salary: £100-£170 a day - Depending on the size of the shoot.
Ideally 3-4 days a week excluding weekends.
