This position is responsible for assisting SIHC’s Administrative Team in coordinating community program outreach and planning events while simultaneously supporting internal efforts to ensure access to quality care. This position establishes and maintains internal and external professional and community relationships. This position plans all elements of internal (employee and community) and external (professional and community) events and carries out the planning of each event on the event day. This position is responsible for promoting the program and services for SIHC through various media types and organizes communications, promotional events, and community engagement opportunities.GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for promoting the program and services for SIHC through various media types and organizes communications, promotional events, and community engagement opportunities.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maximum utilization of budget. Maintains excellent communication with Department Directors on event budgets.Coordinate community relations to develop social and educational programs to gain the goodwill of the community and promote SIHC services.Maintain employee relations through assisting in employee communication with the purpose of employee engagement.Collaborate with department directors to coordinate events.Develop marketing plan to retrieve maximum attendance at SIHC events.Manage all aspects of an event from pre-planning, determining resource needs, pre-event marketing, and on-site coordination, to post event follow up.Order supplies needed for events and ensure items arrive in a timely fashion.Manage and coordinate with vendor selection and negotiating the best possible rates and terms for events. Including caterers, venues, rental companies, and entertainment providers.Manage, design and coordinate event layouts, transportation and ensure the event safety.Held accountable, to the highest degree, for accuracy and thoroughness of publications and documents on behalf of the Clinic. Creating publications and documents for the community and employees, such as flyers, brochures, reports, and other materials.Maintain event records and reports for any audit and policy requirements.Collaborative efforts with the Social Media Specialist on Marketing Strategic Planning.Coordinates elements for community meetings and event activities such as health fairs, parades, traditional gatherings, Tribal events, etc.Oversees SIHC community groups and events to ensure the highest quality of service with a positive impact within the community.Maintain, order, review and update SIHC promotional items.Assists with maintaining and updating SIHC posted public information throughout the clinic.Remains informed of current health trends to update educational material.Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures and holds the utmost professional demeanor to represent the Clinic.The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as events require based on need.Performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required. At least three years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Event Management or related field preferred. Must be culturally competent and have knowledge of American Indians and Indian values and practices. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must have the willingness and ability to adapt to change including advances in technology. Demonstrate public relations, customer service, scheduling, knowledge of advanced parking principles and leadership skills. Requires exceptional organizational skills, excellent time management, attention to detail and strong communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple events simultaneously. Ability to develop, plan and implement short and long-range goals. Travel may be required.Driver’s License:

A valid California driver’s license will be required at the time of hire and must be maintained throughout employment. Applicant must be insurable under SIHC vehicle insurance policy at the time of hire and throughout employment. Certifications and/or licenses appropriate to the positions required education and profession must also be valid and maintained.Character:

Applicants must have a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness. Must be responsible, exercise good judgment, accept administrative supervision, follow direction, and interact effectively with people in a professional manner. Must maintain strict confidentiality and abide by HIPAA Regulations. Must exhibit cultural awareness and sensitivity.Other:

Applicants must successfully pass a tuberculin skin test or x-ray, and blood/urine screening test. Health must be adequate to perform all duties. Applicants must complete a SIHC application and submit it to Human Resources. The position is located at the Alpine Clinic.Seniority level
