As the Associate Director of PR & Communications for the Code and Theory network, you’ll develop and execute comprehensive communication plans to enhance our public image and ensure clear and effective messaging for brands within the network. Specifically, you will have the opportunity to shine a light on all of the great talent, work and clients at Kettle, Instrument, Left Field Labs, Truelogic, Rhythm and Mediacurrent.

You will work in lock step with the Code and Theory core brand to create a joined-up narrative as well as a network-wide plan for press, awards and events. You’ll also offer guidance on the brands’ social media platforms and internal communications. And you will be responsible for pitching and landing stories in the tech and consumer press.

The most important aspect of this role will be bringing Code and Theory’s agencies to a broad audience of publications, particularly in the tech and consumer spaces. You will be an earned media evangelist for network agencies that are doing amazing things but need their stories amplified.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Develop and implement communication strategies that align with organizational goals.

Identify target audiences and craft messages that effectively reach and engage them.

Build and maintain relationships with media contacts in tech and consumer media.

Uncover the great stories within each agency and package them to pitch to media outlets.

Prepare and coach spokespeople for media interviews.

Write, edit, and distribute various types of content, including press releases, newsletters, and social media posts.

Assist in thought leadership for key leaders and staff.

Ensure all content is accurate, consistent, and aligned with the organization's brand and voice.

Develop and manage internal communication strategies to keep employees informed and engaged.

Develop and execute social media strategies to enhance the organization’s online presence.

Monitor social media channels and engage with the audience.

Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies.

Secure speaking engagements on desirable stages.

Prepare reports on communication activities and provide insights for continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Experience in communications, public relations, or a related role.

Strong contacts at tech and consumer publications as well as key tech events.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be a very strong writer.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines at a very fast pace.

Strong strategic and creative thinking, and planning abilities.

Proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems.

Enjoyment in seeing bespoke projects come to life.

Strong interpersonal skills (e.g. sense of humor) and the ability to work collaboratively with different teams in order to achieve results.

Experience with technology companies and a strong desire to learn how technology impacts businesses and brands.

Familiarity with graphic design software and video editing tools.

Experience with AI tools and eagerness to go to the next level.

The target range of base compensation for this role is $105K-$125k. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
