Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree in marketing, communications or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Minimum 1 year experience. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with others. Must be able to travel to the Academies. Must possess a valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to the University by the University’s insurance carrier.

Desired Qualifications:Experience with communications and design software including Word, Excel, Photoshop, InDesign and Adobe Illustrator. Experience managing multiple social media formats. Experience using Content Management System or similar systems for website design and e-communications. Demonstrated superior oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work irregular hours. Ability to prioritize tasks quickly and effectively to reliably produce excellent products and events in a fast-paced office. Photography experience.

Position Purpose:The marketing assistant provides marketing and communications support to the Office of Public School Academies. This will include producing content for website and managing print publications. Develops PSA Office social media presence. Provides graphics for publications and photographs/videos and reports on school and office events. Collaborates with University Communications and Marketing and School of Education and Human Services marketing personnel as needed. The marketing assistant reports to the Executive Director.

Job Duties:50% Technical Support of PSA Office Initiatives: Communicate consistent messages across print and electronic media. Plan and produce marketing publications, web development and new media support. Write and edit copy for office publications, websites, social media, etc. by collecting, organizing and condensing information from on and off campus sources. Adhere to university messages, logo (identity) requirements, positioning efforts, and editorial style and standards.40% Marketing and Communication: Coordinate online strategies and print communications. Act as liaison to design staff, photographers, videographers, Web and media production staff and vendors. Help plan and produce communications and marketing support including advertising, publications, event planning, Web development and social media.10% Other: Perform other duties as assigned.
