Summary:

The main function of the User Experience Designer is to work with project teams to design and deliver high quality client-centered, effective, consistent and usable interfaces.

Education/ Experience:

Bachelor's degree in human factors/usability or related discipline.0-2 years related experience.

Skills:

Works closely with business analysts, business sponsors, project managers and IT teams to obtain and understand business requirements.Creates the design of user interface specifications, by applying client research, design standards, industry best practices, taking into account strategic business objectives, user needs, systems constraints.Participates in design review sessions with project teams, acquiring consensus and getting approvals on designs and documentation.Executes business acceptance test cases and testing.Works with the project managers to ensure that usability deliverables accommodate project timelines, budgets, technical and scope constraints.Contributes to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of efficient and effective usability methodology/process, documentation, workflow, ROI, metrics and design standards. Acts as a user experience advocate regarding principles of user experience and user-centered design.Proven understanding of user-centered design techniques & demonstrated ability to incorporate UCD principles into the architecture and design of user interfaces.Demonstrated ability in gathering and translating requirements from business sponsors, SMEs, users, and business analysts etc.Experience applying usability testing techniques and principles.Experience applying a web design standard.Knowledge of web client technologies (browsers, HTML, CSS).Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to articulate ideas effectively.Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop. Strong ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.Strong detail orientation, and a passion for consistency.

Key Notes and Attributes:

3+ years of industry experience at collaborative work required. Or 1+ years with master’s degree required.Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.Comfortable with ambiguity and strong ownership.Candid, respectful debates.Deep knowledge of application architecture basic concepts, software design process, and UI/UX design deliverables.Working knowledge of usability testing.Strong time and project management skills under tight deadlines managing multiple projects at the same time.Experience working with cross-functional project teams reporting into multiple stakeholders.Experience in designing Mobile applications and involvement from research to delivering design artifacts.Design, research experience is required.Master's degree preferred in Human factors, Human computer interactions, Interaction Design, Usability engineering, Computer Science, Psychology, Information Technology.Knowledge/experience in working with design and communication tools: Adobe, Sketch or other prototyping tools. Skilled in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).Communicate device UX (Samsung One UI) with carriers, gathering feedback, working closely with designers in S. Korea to enhance Samsung device experience.Review and analyze UX in early phases of development and delivering feedback with design alternatives.Communicate and cooperate with counterparts of internal teams such as product design, research, engineering, and marketing. As well as external partners, such as telecommunication operators and external consultants.Ensure that the UI development results meet market (consumer) demand, technical specifications and carrier requirements.Conduct design research and propose new concepts with mockups.Conduct group usability studies and document results and analysis of the studies.Analyze UX of competing mobile devices as well as market trends in mobile UX.
