The position will manage Amylyx’ external and internal communications strategy and programs in support of the company’s science, pipeline, and overall brand, including media relations support, content creation and approvals, and executive communications that build excitement for and awareness of Amylyx’ work in neurodegenerative, neuroendocrine, and endocrine diseases. This role will be integral to drive and execute Amylyx’ broader communications team initiatives and projects. A successful candidate will bring a breadth of communications expertise, technical know-how to deliver strong results, and talent for leading through ambiguity and change in a fast-paced environment.THE RESPONSIBILITIESCommunications Strategy :Lead public relations plans and initiatives to drive key message penetration in media coverage, extend company awareness, and support Amylyx’ vision and goalsLead development of executive thought leadership strategyDevelop press releases, media statements, key message documents, presentations, and other supporting materials; streamline and shepherd cross-functional review processesEnsure strong collaboration and scenario-planning across key functions to strategically elevate company milestonesBuild reporting and metrics to measure impact of PR/comms efforts and report impact to functional heads and executive leadershipMedia Relations :Help cultivate relationships with key media stakeholders, including journalists, bloggers, and relevant influencersEnsure excellence in media and communications materials, including development, writing, style, tone, approval: video scripts and final cuts, subscriber emails, flyers, media fact sheets, message documents, Q&As, brochures and related media materialsSupport development of effective media pitches, identify leads, manage logistics, and provide talking points for senior management media opportunitiesOversee monitoring of industry news, creation and maintenance of media lists, conducting of media outreach campaigns, and providing of rapid responses to incoming media requests for interviews; identify proactive and reactive opportunities to maximize editorial placementAssist in developing strategic external communications plans for crisis management; carefully manage executionTrain employees in media engagement policy as appropriateDigital :Support the corporate communications team’s integrated, global social media strategy that further establishes Amylyx as an industry leader, including helping write and post social content aligned with Amylyx messaging and assisting with social media community managementAssist with efforts to activate employees through social and digital programs and activitiesDrive announcement-related website changes across main corporate and investor sites; provide input on other website content as needed (e.g., clinical trial sites, future disease awareness or advocacy websites)Develop subscriber email blasts to amplify company announcementsInternal :Contribute to internal communications strategy promoting employee engagement and inclusivityDistill external corporate communications and investor relations announcements for an internal audience and draft executive talking pointsProvide recommendations to leadership on how to internally communicate complex or challenging topicsIntroduce new processes and tools to incorporate employee feedback and generate excitement for our R&D programs (e.g., surveys to name clinical trials and collect team achievements for end of year recap)Develop employee spotlight strategy and conduct interviews to write articles for intranet and social media as appropriateRecommend updates to optimize intranet (“Lynx”) experience; oversee implementation of those and all other requested Lynx updatesTrack reporting and metrics to measure impactREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS10+ years of relevant work experience, with 5+ years of previous healthcare/pharma/biotech industry experienceExceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively tailor communication to a broad collection of external and internal audiencesAbility to translate complex scientific, clinical, and financial data into easy to communicate messagingExceptional attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-pressure, deadline driven environmentAbility to adapt quickly, an energetic, efficient, and resourceful team player and individual contributorAn active and effective leaderA person with an insatiable appetite to learn moreAbility to travel up to 20% if not local to the Boston areaWORK LOCATION AND CONDITIONSThis is a remote friendly role, but you must reside and work within the United States, and in a state where Amylyx currently does business, to be considered. Any change in your remote location must be approved by AmylyxYou will be required to follow Amylyx’s Remote Work Policy which includes:
