Job Description:Your Mission:Join the Overwatch team as a Hero Designer and bring to life our next iconic character. With your experience in designing player characters and abilities, you will craft heroes that stand out with their outstanding identities and gameplay. You will be responsible for your designs from conception to completion, ensuring they align with the game’s fantasy and improve the player experience. Collaborate with a team that strives for excellence, sharing ideas and tasks in a collaborative, iterative environment. Your strong system design skills and analytical thinking will contribute to the ongoing success of Overwatch.

What you bring to the table:In a dynamic environment such as ours, priorities may frequently shift. Therefore, the role encompasses, but is not confined to, the following responsibilities:

Apply your collaborative skills to craft future Overwatch Heroes, working alongside other designers, artists, and programmers to ensure a high-quality gaming experience.

Develop balance adjustments and redesign heroes for the current live game.

Master our tools to effectively prototype and debug abilities.

Create and maintain design documentation for features and systems.

Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the overall gameplay and user experience of Overwatch.

Minimum Requirements:

2+ years of experience or comparable qualifications.

Demonstrated proficiency in designing player characters and/or associated systems.

Experience in developing or playing first-person shooters.

Effective communication with cross-functional teams including programming, design, art, and production.

A keen understanding of what makes a player’s experience fun and compelling.

Driven and proactive in solving design challenges.

A deep passion and enthusiasm for video games.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Experience with scripting, prototyping, and debugging tools.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $29.81 - $55.14 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location.
