Criminal Justice / Emergency Communications Specialist positions —expecting to end on or before 06/30/2025. This information is utilized during the pay equity analysis phase.Summary of Job Duties:The purpose of this position is to provide

24-hour

coordinated response of local, state, and federal resource response to network system administration and maintenance, customer assistance and incident coordination, investigative assistance, and emergency response coordination and management.You will serve as the single point of contact for statewide notification; requiring independent decision making that may have a direct impact on officer safety, life, protection of the environment, and property within the state of Oregon.You will also serve as the first point of contact for Technical Support for the Oregon State Police IT Service Desk for after-hours calls. You will be the primary call taker; this position receives initial calls for support, logs request in online ticketing system, resolves minor issues when possible, and modifies on-call support in the event of a critical system outage requiring immediate attention.Minimum Qualifications/Eligibility Requirements:Two years of communications experience, with computerized systems, working in a public, private, or military agency communications center involving frequent contact and/or coordination with the public or other governmental or nongovernmental agencies.Note: “Communications experience” includes duty as a dispatcher or other person involved in a dispatch or coordination function which is conducted by radio, telephone and/or teletype.Preferred Skills:Demonstrated ability to communicate with members of the criminal justice and emergency management system in a professional manner.Demonstrated ability to use policy or procedure manuals, handbooks, or other types of reference materials and apply the information to specific situations.Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-tasking environment, subject to quick changing priorities.Demonstrated ability to efficiently prioritize work and respond effectively to multiple and frequent demands from telephones and other communications equipment.Ability to evaluate emergency calls via telecommunications equipment and multi-line telephones and determine appropriate level of response needed.This recruitment announcement will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill the current vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.Special Qualifications:Must be LEDS certified or be able to obtain certification upon hire.Selection Process:InterviewHow to Apply:Apply in Workday by the deadline listed above, failure to submit your application by 11:59PM of the above listed date will result in automatic disqualification of your application.
