Job Summary

This position works to improve the organization’s market position and achieve financial growth. The Director defines short and long-term organizational strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions through external contacts and extensive market data research and analytics. The Director, Marketing and Strategic Planning advises the senior leadership during strategic planning based on market analytics. Responsible for planning, directing and implementing a program that promotes public awareness and positive community relations and provider relations towards the hospital and its affiliated services. Oversees use of social media channels, following established policies and guidelines while proactively pushing appropriate content out to targeted end users. Monitors hospital website content and functionality and ensures website design is updated and effectively communicates with key audiences. In summation, the Director, Marketing and Strategic Planning drives strategic initiatives and supports the development of long-term growth plans and profitability goals, while analyzing and recommending emerging industry trends, expansion opportunities, competitive threats, provider issues and viability of outside business partners.

Educational Requirements

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in marketing required. Master’s preferred.

Experience/Qualifications/Skills Requirements

Four years in healthcare marketing experience preferred with proven analytical and problem-solving skills resulting in data driven decisions that enhance and increase market share. Demonstrated the ability to speak and prepare written communication for internal and external audiences in grammatically correct format using the appropriate writing style as applicable. The ability to research market data, review analytics and form conclusions based on research methodology. Experience in layout and graphic design, media planning and print production is preferred.

Language/Communications Requirements

English required. Multilingual capabilities enhance the ability to perform this job. Must have the ability to speak effectively and professionally to all staff, management, and all outside individuals at all levels, from elementary to professional.

Reasoning Ability

Must have the ability to apply non-judgmental reasoning capabilities whenever necessary when dealing with patients, visitors, and staff. Critical thinking and multitasking skills are a must.
