Job Description

We are looking for a highly collaborative learning and people development specialist who is passionate about delivering an integrated, world-class employee experience. This position reports to the Director of People Development & Engagement and will partner with a variety of stakeholders and subject matter experts across the company to architect tailored, meaningful, and impactful learning experiences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design modern, digital forward learning experiences to support strategic enterprise people and leadership development programs

Analyze target audience and programmatic needs, identify learning outcomes, and create learner personas and user experience journey maps

Develop and document learning experience flow, schedule, and custom-built learning materials

Review, assess, and select content to achieve learning outcomes

Assess and identify learning tools and create multi-media assets to augment storytelling within the learning experience and to support program adoption

Synthesize and contextualize content in partnership with the program management team, vendor partners, SMEs, and senior business leaders

Partner with Regional Leads to identity regional needs and augment/localize materials as appropriate

Assist in building and managing end-to-end informal and formal learning experiences, including rapid prototyping, plan and pathway curation/creation, program communications, support resources, and engagement activities within digital learning platform(s)

Assist in defining and deploying measurement tactics, including data analysis and visualization, to determine effectiveness of learning and program adoption initiatives

Support the implementation and production of enterprise people strategy and development programs

Contribute to a proactive COE model that identifies unmet needs, architects potential solution options, and prioritizes them on our roadmap

Assist in collecting voice of the learner insights and developing assets for change management initiatives to support program adoption

Curate and build learning experiences that integrate employee experience touchpoints (e.g., career development, performance management, talent review)

Participate in other cross-functional initiatives that help us achieve our Enterprise Learning Strategy goals (e.g., skills mapping, content mapping, learning governance standards)

Develop assets for change management initiatives to support program adoption

Assist in assessing content vendors to select relevant and impactful off-the-shelf content libraries

Role model and advocate for a modern learning mindset (i.e., learning through an environment that provides comprehensive, unified experiences, exposure, and education)

Qualifications:

5-10 years’ experience in HR or Learning function

Proven experience in:

Building digital learning, career, and leadership development experiences that drive measurable behavioral change, including multimedia content creation and curation

Ideating, creating, and delivering modern learning experiences as part of a larger digital learning transformation

Using a consultative approach to translate learning needs into engaging user-centered experiences

Applying principles of instructional design and adult learning to the creation of modern, digital learning experiences

Displaying technical prowess, including fluency in using modern learning and HR technologies (Learning Management Systems and Learning Experience Platforms) and authoring tools

Managing competing priorities

Demonstrates key leadership skillsets and mindsets:

Strong analytics, communications, and presentation skills

Shows proactive self-leadership through goal orientation, accountability, and passion for driving business-driven outcomes

Working in a global, corporate environment (cultural intelligence)

Uses a design-thinking and data-driven approach to decision-making

Challenges the status quo to move beyond traditional ways of doing things

Maintains a positive attitude and forward-thinking approach despite challenges

Embraces continual, lifelong learning

Actively seeks out industry research and benchmarking

Manages the uncertainty of change and works in an agile environment

A peer coach with strong connection to the team

Preferred:

Master’s degree in Organizational Learning Design, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development or related field

Compensation & Benefits Details

An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.

The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York. This range may be modified in the future.

You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance. Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program, and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan.
