Communications Manager (Internal and External)
Do you have the skills and experience to create integrated communication plans, deliver impactful messages through appropriate channels, and continuously improve the Society’s approach to Colleague and Customer engagement? If so, this opportunity could be what you’re looking for!
We’re looking for an outstanding individual to produce, review and update compelling and engaging communications which resonate with our internal colleagues and external customers whilst collaborating closely with Marketing, and wider internal teams, to craft and implement a communications strategy which aligns with the Society’s objectives.
In this role you will use your skills, knowledge and experience to:
Develop and introduce an internal and external communications strategy
Monitor all internal and external communications to ensure successful execution of the Society’s communications strategy
Support wider departments within the Society with effective internal and external communications
Develop and oversee colleague communications to maximise engagement and participation
Lead the Society’s external communications to increase customer engagement
Manage local community relationships to improve community engagement
Evidence outcomes of communication techniques through the use of evaluation tools and MI
Display a can-do positive attitude to take action based on MI produced, continuously improving communications/communication strategies where possible.
Produce quality, engaging multi-media content to support the Society’s communication activities, including (but not limited to):
Social media communications;
Presentations;
Letters;
Emails;
Job advertisements;
Forms; and
Surveys.
Own the Society’s PR strategy
Develop and distribute all Society PR (trade and local press)
Create and distribute internal and external communications
Own the Society’s internal Intranet system
To be considered you will need to demonstrate:
Outstanding communication skills with excellent active listening and presentation skills and an ability to provide excellent customer service at all levels of the Society, embracing the Society’s GREAT values.
Excellent administrative skills, and PC skills, covering Microsoft Office suite of products.
A strong attention to detail.
Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the team effort and objectives.
Ability to follow, and work to, procedures and instructions to produce accurate and thorough work.
Ability to balance a multitude of different tasks while effectively managing time to ensure delivery of all tasks within agreed deadlines.
Organisation and workload management/prioritisation skills.
Excellent time keeping and attendance.
Proactivity - a self-starter who is able to work individually as well as part of a team.
Essential qualifications/experience:
Minimum of GCSEs at grades 9-4 (or A-C or equivalent), including Maths and English
Educated to A Levels at grades A to C (or equivalent).
Experience of working in a communications role.
Experience of working in a busy environment.
Experience creating engaging content.
Experience of working with B2C and B2B audiences.
Desired qualifications/experience:
Educated to degree level or relevant professional qualification.
Experience of working in the Financial Services market.
Experience of savings and mortgage products.
Salary:
£35,000-£40,000 p.a. dependent on experience, skills and qualifications
Location:
Tipton, West Midlands
Hours:
35 per week
The Society is able to offer hybrid working, following successful completion of an initial probationary period, you would be able to work 2 days at home each week.
