B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering and a minimum 6 years of civil design experience in the transportation, infrastructure, and/or municipal engineering industriesWorking knowledge and experience with state and regional regulationsProject experience working with IDOT, Tollway, CDOT, various counties and/or local municipalitiesExcellent written and oral communication skillsKnowledge of MicroStation and GeopakValid driver’s license requiredResponsibilities

Direct and monitor all aspects of most projects while mentoring Design Engineers, Project Engineers and/or Lead EngineersOversees and manages a design teamDevelops, reviews, and comments on design documents and specificationsPrimary point of communication for clients, subconsultants, and internal coordination including multi-disciplinary projectsDevelops proposals, project budgets and ensures projects are completed according to time and budget schedules, and that objectives conform to design standards and scope of workSupervises the completion, quality check and approval of all client proposals and contractsTracks projects actual expenditures versus planned expendituresReviews and approves monthly billing invoices and prepares monthly progress reportAdvises client of expenditure status, as neededUtilizes value engineering, optimization and judgement from previous experience as well as technical input and contributions from others throughout design process to accomplish goalsLead project meetings both internally and with clientsOther assignments as neededBenefits
